Testing the Spirits pg4

When someone is filled with the Holy Spirit, they will exhibit those qualities and attributes associated with
those belonging to Christ. You can test the spirits by measuring them against these attributes.

Agrees with scripture

Isaiah 8:20 “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light
in them.”

Brings forth good fruit

Matthew 7:17 “Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.”

Bears the fruits of the Spirit

Galatians 5:22-24 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the
affections and lusts.”

Knows God and hears truth

1 John 4:6 “We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we
the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.”

Loves Jesus

John 8:42 “Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from
God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.”

Loves Others

1 John 4:8 “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.”
