The Spirit of God will lead us in the path of the commandments; for the promise is, that "when he, the Spirit of truth,
is come, he will guide you into all truth." We should try the spirits by the test of God's word; for there are many spirits
in the world. "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light
in them."
Hears God’s prophets. Confesses that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh.

But God has given us a rule whereby to test what is truth. The prophet says: “To the law and to the testimony; if they
speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them." "He that is of God heareth God's word."
"We are of God; he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit
of truth, and the spirit of error." "But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. My sheep
hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me." "If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him
acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord." “Beloved, believe not every
spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God; because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby
know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God; and every
spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God; and this is that spirit of antichrist,
whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world."
